Apple provides two levels of protection for data stored in iCloud:
- Standard Data Protection (default)
Your data is encrypted, and encryption keys are stored securely in Apple’s data centers. Some types of data (like passwords and health information) are end-to-end encrypted.
- Advanced Data Protection (optional)
For the highest level of privacy, you can enable Advanced Data Protection for iCloud. This ensures that only your trusted devices hold the encryption keys — even Apple cannot access your data.
