The Add Button (+) is your shortcut to daily journaling — it’s where you can quickly capture your thoughts, start a new reflection, or open an exercise whenever you need to practice mindful breating or meditate. Here’s what you’ll find on this screen:
Add a New Entry

Start by choosing what kind of entry you’d like to create:
- Empty Page – for free writing when you simply want to pour your thoughts out.
- Mood Check-In – to record how you’re feeling in the moment.
- Journaling Suggestions – perfect for when you’re not sure what to write about.
Journaling Suggestions are personalized based on your memories and activities — such as your photos and videos, past reflections, and data from Apple Health.
Make sure to enable Apple Health syncing in your settings to receive these tailored suggestions directly in stoic.
💡Tip: To receive mood-based suggestions, enable Mood Tracking on your iPhone:
Settings → Privacy → Health → Stoic → Moods;
and:
Settings → Privacy → Journaling Suggestions.
If this option isn’t turned on yet, stoic will guide you there automatically via Go to Settings button.
Your Favorites

Below Add New Entry, you’ll find Your Favorites — this section gathers all your favorite journals, exercises, and activities.
Anything you’ve marked as a favorite while using stoic will appear here, so you can easily return to your preferred reflections whenever you need them.
Custom Templates

If you like full control over your journaling experience, you should explore stoic’s Custom Templates. You can create as many personalized journals as you want, and reuse them anytime. Building your own templates is a great way to design journaling routines that fit your exact needs.
To create a new template:
- Tap Create Your Own Journaling Template.
- Name your new journal.
- Tap Add First Item to start adding prompts, metrics, or habits.
- You can include existing stoic prompts or write your own.
- Add metrics like 1–5 scales or Yes/No questions to track habits or emotions.
- When you’re done, tap Save (top-right corner).
Your new template will appear on your list, ready for future entries.
To edit or delete a template, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the template card and choose Edit, Delete, or Mark as Favorite.
Library

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the Library — a collection of journals, weekly themes, and exercises organized by category.
You can browse through sections tailored to every mood, goal, and moment — from Daily Essentials and Wellbeing SOS to Self-Reflections and Philosophy.
The Library also includes breathing exercises and meditations — perfect tools to ease anxiety, calm your mind, and regain balance during stressful days.
Tap any card to explore the exercise, see how it works, and discover which ones fit your needs best. Then, you can mark them as favorites for quick access whenever you need a mindful moment.
