If stoic isn’t sending you notifications or AI reminders, here’s the way to fix it. Follow these steps to make sure everything is enabled and running smoothly:
1. Check Your iPhone Notification Settings
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to Notifications → scroll down to Stoic in the Notification Style list.
- Make sure Allow Notifications and Time-Sensitive Notifications are both enabled.
- Under Alerts, ensure that Lock Screen and Banners are turned on.
- If you’d like sound or vibration with your reminders, make sure Sounds and Badges are also enabled.
💡 If you’re using Focus Mode or Do Not Disturb, Stoic notifications may be paused. Try turning those off or allowing stoic as an exception under Focus → Apps → Allowed Notifications.
2. Check Background App Settings
Stoic needs permission to stay active in the background to send timely reminders.
- Go to Settings → General → Background App Refresh.
- Find stoic, and make sure Background App Refresh is turned on. If it’s off, notifications might be delayed or not appear at all.
3. Check Notification Settings in Stoic
- Open the app.
- Go to Your Profile → scroll down to Account section → open Notifications.

- Check that your preferred reminders are turned on (available options include Morning Preparation, Evening Reflection, AI Reminders, Your Daily Focus, and Daily Journaling Prompt)

Additionally, if you’re using AI Premium Features:
- Go to Your Profile → scroll down to Account section → tap Active Premium.
- Make sure the Use AI Reminders option is switched on.
This feature sends smart, personalized notifications throughout the day — but only if stoic notifications are allowed in your system settings.
💡 After changing settings, it may take a few minutes for notifications to resume. You can try restarting stoic or your device to refresh them.
