Sometimes, automatic iCloud synchronization may not work as expected, and your entries might not appear on your other devices.
While stoic has limited control over iCloud’s behavior, as the service is fully managed by Apple, there are a few reliable steps you can take to get syncing back on track. Be sure to check these settings on all of your Apple devices.
1. Check if iCloud Is Enabled on Your Device
Open your device’s Settings and make sure iCloud is active:
- Tap your Apple ID name at the top of the Settings screen.
- Tap iCloud.
- Ensure both iCloud Drive and stoic are switched on.
This allows stoic to store and share your journaling data securely through iCloud. You can also verify that iCloud Drive itself is turned on in the main iCloud settings list.
2. Make Sure You Have Enough iCloud Storage
If sync still isn’t working, check that your iCloud storage isn’t full:
- Go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
- If you’re running out of space, try deleting unneeded files or upgrading your storage plan.
3. Check iCloud Sync Settings in Stoic
In the app, you can view your current sync status:
- Go to Your Profile → Your Data → iCloud Sync.

This page will show the current sync state:
- Looks OK means everything is working properly.
- If you see an error, try triggering a complete re-sync on all your devices.

💡 Make sure stoic is open and active while syncing — background sync may pause when the app isn’t running.
4. Confirm You’re Using the Same Apple ID on All Devices
Stoic syncs through your personal iCloud account. If you’re using multiple Apple IDs across devices, your entries won’t appear on all of them. Make sure you’re logged into the same Apple ID on every iPhone, iPad, and Mac you want to sync.
5. Syncing iOS and Android Apps
Currently, cross-platform sync between iOS and Android is not available. Our iOS and Android versions differ in features and design, so synchronization works only across Apple devices at this time.
